The Lodge is one of the most distinctive event spaces in the greater Seattle area. Housed in a restored 1930s seminary building, it offers soaring ceilings, gorgeous architectural details, and warm natural light pouring through tall windows. Step outside and you’re surrounded by old-growth forest and walking trails, which meant we could move seamlessly from formal family portraits indoors to relaxed, candid shots among the trees.

A few tips for your search…
Experience with the traditions. Your photographer should understand the flow of the day — the ceremony, the blessings, the dancing, so they’re in the right place before the moment happens, not scrambling after it. It also matters that they know when not to shoot, and that they’ve talked with your family about photography during the service itself.
A full gallery, not just highlights. Ask to see a complete event from start to finish. Anyone can post ten great images; you want to know the whole day will be covered well.
Comfort with both formal and candid work. You need polished family portraits and the unguarded, joyful moments on the dance floor. Those require different instincts.
Someone your daughter feels at ease with. This is her day. A photographer who can connect with a 12- or 13-year-old will get far more natural images than one who only talks to the parents.
